The Student visa (subclass 500) is intended for international students seeking to undertake full-time education and training in Australia. The Student Guardian visa (subclass 590) allows a parent, legal guardian, or relative to stay in Australia as the guardian of an international student who is under 18 years of age and holds a Student visa (subclass 500). This visa permits the guardian to provide care and support for the duration of the studentโs stay or until they turn 18. To apply, the guardian must meet specific health, character, and financial requirements, and must not bring family members under 6 years of age unless there are compelling and compassionate reasons.
